Contrary to popular belief, her real name is not Camille Javal. The Bardot family comes from Lorraine, where her father, a well-known businessman, was born.

Her mother was a housewife and focused on raising Brigitte and her younger sister, Marie-Jeanne.

In her childhood, Brigitte did not consider herself beautiful. She had strabismus, an incorrect bite, a lifted lip, and other physical imperfections.

However, she was proud of her impeccable figure with perfect curves. Her parents were delighted with her grace and decided to enroll her in a ballet school. In 1947, despite the tough competition, Brigitte was accepted into the National Dance Academy.

For three years, she studied under the guidance of Russian choreographer Boris Knyazev.
